the Compaq 171fs and 151fs VDUs
The 17" Compaq 171fs VDU (and the 15" version 151fs) has a really complicated method of adjusting many of the screen functions, so unless you happen to have access to a manual you would be hard pressed to adjust trapezoid, pincushion etc.
Although I did eventually manage to find a manual myself, I couldn't find this information anywhere on the web. Not even on Compaq's website. I can't be the only person in the world to whom this would be useful, so here is a scanned version of the relevant parts of the Compaq manual. NB: Some 151fs have rotary controls for contrast/brightness instead of up/down buttons. These have a slightly different method of using the 'function' button.
